About the Project
Land Use is the definition of how the space and the ground is being used. This refers to all levels of governance on all scales. It includes the rural areas, the urban areas and all unsettled land – thus, the full territory of India.
The Planning and Management of this Land Use raises the question of how and by whom the definition of all Land Use is being done? A good strategic Planning structure, that gets all important and relevant stakeholders in charge can create a “Spatial intelligence” that enhances the single functions and uses and generates an overall working system of Land Use. Conflicts of opposing uses can be prevented.
It is the objective of the project to improve this system of Land Use Planning in India with a focus on the State Level. An expected result is, that Indian State Planning Institutes are applying instruments of integrated spatial and land use planning.
