Information exchange meeting between German experts and CPCB

19 September, New Delhi

An information exchange session took place on 19th September 2016 between the officials of the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the German Federal Environment Agency (UBA) and two senior German experts on:

  1. Developing a framework for Best Available Techniques Reference (BREF) Documents for the identified industry sectors (tannery, textile and chemicals – dyes and pharmaceuticals)
  2. Developing an enforcement protocol/ordinance for environmental compliance in leather tannery sector in India

The German experts included Ms. Almut Reichart and Ms. Brigitte Zietlow from UBA, Mr. Franz Ellermann, a senior expert on BREF processes and Ms. Jutta Knoedler, a senior tannery sector expert. The experts will continue work with CPCB officials in next weeks.
