Water4crops Project Discussed At ISWATS Conference

NEERI and Ecosan Services Foundation organised the International Conference on Innovations in Sustainable Water and Wastewater Treatment Systems (ISWATS) from 21st to 23rd April in Pune, India. The strategic objectives of the Conference were to exchange knowledge, technologies, guidelines and tools for enabling research partnerships and creating favourable environments for the application of treatment systems and technologies for sustainable water/wastewater treatment, reuse and recycling. The conference included presentations of findings from five projects (NaWaTech, Saraswati, ECO-India, SWINGS and Water4Crops) supported under the Framework of India – European Union Science & Technology Cooperation in water technology and management, co-funded by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India and the European Commission. Eminent experts from R&D and academic institutes, water supply authorities, government officials, industries and community organizations from across the world participated in the conference.
A panel session was devoted to Water4Crops on April 22 for communicating the research findings of the project to a wider audience. Water4Crops consortium partners such as IRSA, GIZ, ICRISAT, TERI, MSSRF and UAS Dharwad participated in the panel. Ms. Sonal Jain from GIZ presented on the policy relevance and implications for replication of the waste water treatment technologies being developed by W4C partners.
