Workshop on Site Master Plan of ALEAP Green Industrial Park

A one day workshop was conducted for finalization of the Site Master Plan of the Green Industrial Park, Nandigama (near Hyderabad in Telangana) on 11th October 2014 for the members of Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh and their consultants Murty and Manyam- architects and engineers. The programme was attended by 6 participants from both organizations. Programme schedule is attached.
Mr Thomas Kraubitz, Senior Consultant, Buro Happold Cities, was the principal resource person for this programme. He is a strategic planner, urbanist and architect with strong experience in regional and city planning, international development, urban and building design. He has been actively involved initiating the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) and is leading the economics section for the Industrial Districts Scheme. He is a LEED GA (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design -Green Associate) and DGNB Auditor.
The workshop focused on assessment of the Site Master Plan of ALEAP Green Industrial Park Nandigama as per DGNB rating system taking into consideration provisions such as the basic and technical infrastructure in the Site Master Plan, including:
- Transportation/circulation systems, renewable energy systems
- Rain water, waste water, solid waste management
- Safety systems for women in industrial park
- Common infrastructure and services
As a result of the workshop, the preliminary assessment of the Site Master Plan showed that the site covered several aspects of the DGNB rating system and a formal process of DGNB certification could be initiated targeting Gold rating.
