Two Day Training on “Successful Presentations, Moderations and Meetings“

The State Pollution Control Boards have one main goal: A cleaner environment. To enforce this goal it is substantial to gain compliance from all parties identified as polluters. Especially the dialogue with companies requires communication, presentation and negotiation skills on a high professional level.
Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH with the support of Gujarat Pollution Control Board (GPCB) organised a two-day training programme on “Successful Presentations, Moderations and Meetings“at Ganghi Nagar, Gujarat on 04-05 September 2013. The programme was a part of the Capacity Development initiatives of GIZ in supporting GPCB. The programme was designed based on the inputs received by two capacity needs assessment excercise carried by GIZ where need for effective presentation, moderation, self confidence, communication to partners including industries, etc., emerged as key areas where they need training on priority basis.
Ms. Anita Stogel, a German expert on Communication, conducted this training on behalf of GIZ‘s Indo-German Environment Programme (IGEP), along with support of IGEP’s Capacity Building Unit. The two-day training focussed mainly basics of communication, typical presentation scenarios, elements of successful presentations, moderations and its methods, dealing with critical situations etc. The participants were given various interactive excercises to learn the content of training.
The training was attended by the staff of GPCB, Gandhi Nagar, Maharashtra Environmental Engineering Training and Research Academy (MEETRA), Nashik and the staff of GIZ-IGEP. The response from participants was every encourgaging. In the end, the participants shared their biggest learnings and also their plan to implement those learnings in their everyday work.
