Foundation Stone laid for the ALEAP Green Industrial Park

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Government of Andhra Pradesh has laid Foundation Stone for the Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (AELP) Green Industrial Park at Nandigama, near Hyderabad on 28th March, 2013. Along with women entrepreneurs, a few of the Members of Parliament, Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and Members of Legislative Council (MLCs), and some 4,000 locals from nearby villages witnessed the function.
The Green Industrial Park (GRIP) is envisioned to be a model sustainable industrial park that provides conducive environment for women entrepreneurs, that employs state-of-the-art technologies Including clean technologies, renewable energy technologies, environmental technologies, cost-effective common infrastructure and efficient management systems. The Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is providing technical support to ALEAP in the planning of GRIP, under the aegis of the Indo German Environment Partnership (IGEP) Programme, which is jointly implemented by the Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF) of the Government of India.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy, Hon’ble Chief Minister of the Government of Andhra Pradesh announced that Industrial Parks will be developed in every district of Andhra Pradesh to encourage women in the industry sector. In this regard, he said that soon a Task Force will be set up under his leadership. As per a subsequent report form a leading daily, the Industries Department of the Government of Andhra Pradesh has been directed to come up with an action plan for the exclusive industrial parks for women entrepreneurs and that the Chief Minister would like to showcase these parks as one of his government’s many initiatives for women development.
The other honourable speakers on the occasion include Dr. (Mrs.) J. Geeta Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Major Industries, Sugar, Commerce & Export Promotion of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, Mrs. Sunitha Laxma Reddy, Hon’ble Minister for Indira Kranthi Patham, Pensions, Self Help Group & Women Development, Child Welfare & Disabled Welfare, Juvenile Welfare, of the Government of Andhra Pradesh and Mr. T. Nandeeshwar Goud, Member of Legislative Assembly, Andhra Pradesh.
Mrs. Rama Devi, President of ALEAP, in her address, explained about their endeavour in development of the Green Industrial Park specially for women entrepreneurs. Mr. Raghu Babu, Senior Technical Advisor and Programme Coordinator, GIZ (IEGP), highlighted the special features being conceived for the Green Industrial Park including environment friendly Site Master Plan, Green Factory Buildings, Green Energy including usage of solar energy, special facilities for women employees, ecological landscapes and recycle/reuse of wastes and waste water. He said that the Green Industrial Park is being conceptualised to develop as a model industrial park, not only for the state of Andhra Pradesh, but for the entire country.
The work on Site Master Plan for the Green Industrial Park is in progress and is hoped to meet the expectations to be developed as role model Green Industrial Park
